William Howard Taft
1921–1930 · 27th President; 10th Chief Justice of the United States
After his presidency, Taft was appointed Chief Justice in 1921 and made his home at 2215 Wyoming Avenue NW in Sheridan-Kalorama, living there throughout his Supreme Court tenure until his death in 1930. The house later became the Embassy of Syria.
