Woodrow & Edith Wilson
1921–1924 (Woodrow); to 1961 (Edith) · 28th U.S. President and First Lady
After leaving the White House on March 4, 1921, Woodrow Wilson and his wife Edith Bolling Wilson moved into 2340 S Street NW, a Georgian Revival house in Sheridan-Kalorama. Wilson lived there in retirement until his death on February 3, 1924 — the only president to remain in Washington after office. Edith lived on in the house until 1961 and bequeathed it to the National Trust, which runs it as the Woodrow Wilson House museum.
Connection to Kalorama: 2340 S Street NW (the Woodrow Wilson House), after the presidency.
